Come celebrate Canada Day with Alberta Prairie Railway. Steam locomotive No. 41 will be decorated with Canadian flags and will travel to the Village of Big Valley. On board the train, enjoy live entertainment through the coaches and the Lone Star Saloon. In Big Valley, enjoy a Steak Barbecue at the community hall. The Jazz Guys will be in concert on the west side of the station, weather permitting (they will play at the community hall if weather is inclement). You will also have time to explore the history of a once-booming railway town. Visit a fully restored 1912 Canadian Northern Railway station, the blue church on the hill – ST. Edmund’s, McAlister’s Garage Museum, the Vintage Tool and Collectibles Museum, the Rail Car Museum, and the roundhouse and elevator interpretive centres. Remember to visit All That Buzz, Granny’s Fudge Factory, and Jimmy Jock Boardwalk. There is a high likelihood of an attack by the mounted train robbers, the Reynolds Raiders.
